Director's Cut: Project Evolution

A living log of the specific changes, messy decisions, and creative breakthroughs made while building this site. Witness the journal entries of the design process.

Log #042: Spatial Chaos

Rejecting the Grid

Today I realized that strict alignment was killing the "Jalanea.dev" vibe. I spent 3 hours offseting cards by random 2-4 degree rotations. The tangible evidence? The layout finally feels like it has gravity. Like physical objects thrown onto a desk.

The Paper Grain Experiment

Flat colors feel "cheap" in a digital sense. I've added a 24px radial dot grain to the background. It creates a subtle friction for the eyes, making the UI feel like a surface you can touch. Combined with the hard offset shadows, the depth is now tangible.
